And of course, now that the game has been out a week, fans and critics have begun ticking off , given how much it differs from what was originally promised. But now my will to argue for the game has been sapped due to a highly destructive bug that is threatening the very fabric of my play experience. Simply put, the game is starting to eat my save files. After a certain amount of time, anywhere from twenty minutes to two hours, my game will just stop creating new Restore Points. Ironically, I was actually saved by a game crash, which forced me to hard reset the game and discover my lost progress. I originally thought the crash was the cause of lost progress, until I kept playing and discovered that after a while, new Restore Points were simply not being created. This is a way to minimize the damage, but still, losing 5-10 minutes of progress every hour or so is still frustrating. Best case scenario for this bug is that you have to re-explore a cave or re-mine a giant boulder of Emeril, 5-10 minute activities that are still really annoying to re-do. Worst case is that you lose enough progress to rage-quit for a while. I now have to frantically check and compare Restore Point times every five minutes, and hard reset the entire game when they inevitably stop working. Hopefully that changes soon. Pick up my sci-fi novels, , and , which are now in print, online and on.
